The clarity of a diamond is one of the most important factors to consider when choosing the perfect diamond? It’s all about that 4C standard and making sure your diamond is pure and flawless! The level of purity in a diamond is determined by the presence of impurities both inside and outside the stone. The purity of a diamond is evaluated based on factors like quantity, size, buoyancy, quality, and location of impurities both inside and outside the diamond.

Experts assess the clarity of a diamond by closely observing it under a 10x magnifying glass. The GIA diamond transparency scale has six categories and a total of 11 grades. Just wanted to share with you all that the scale is marked with some super cute symbols. Specifically:
• FL (Flawless): No impurities and no external blemishes even under 10x magnification.
• IF (Internal Flawless): No impurities inside even under 10x magnifying glass, there are some very small blemishes outside.
• VVS1-VVS2 (Very Very Slightly Included): Very few impurities, hard to see under 10x magnification.
• VS1-VS2 (Very Slightly Included): Impurities, if looked closely, will be clearly visible under 10x magnification, although impurities at this level are still considered very slight.
• Sl1-Sl2 (Slightly Included): Few impurities can be seen under 10x magnification.
• I1-I3 (Included): Many impurities are clearly visible under 10x magnification.
